Obituary for Cynthia Sanguins

Cynthia Sanguins
Cynthia (Cindy) Sanguins born July 7, 1954, passed away at home on April 30 of natural causes. Cindy was born in Lewiston, Idaho, to Raymond and Vera Schmidt. They moved to Missoula when her father moved to help start up the paper mill, Waldorf Hoerner, at Frenchtown.

Cindy married Vernon Muchmore in 1971. From this marriage three children were born, Derrick, Michael and Theresa. The family traveled overseas and several locations in the U.S. as Vernon was in the Air Force. They divorced in 1979.

Cindy married Ron Sanguins in 1987 and two more children, Jennifer and Casey, were added to her family.

Cindy loved all her children very much without any reservation. That also includes but is not limited to the many friends that the boys brought to live with us. This includes Melisa-Beau-Dustin-Jordan-Sierra-Ralph-Barry-Greg-and Shawn. This does not include all the kids who were at the house at meal times.

Along with her love for her children she was most happy in life when her grandchildren started to arrive. She had the boys promise not to make her a Grandmother before she turned 40 or there may have been severe consequences. Something about Bobbitt!!!

During the single years she worked two jobs to make ends meet and to support her and her boys. Eventually she was hired at a little double wide trailer. A lot of you may remember the Elbow Room. There she built her expertise in the bar restaurant and casino business. Cindy was the first female bartender at the Elbow and was extremely proud of that. While at the Elbow she met and developed many lifelong friends from all walks of life.

Cindy and Ron moved to Seeley Lake where she started her next Adventure. They bought the Saloon Bar. This was more than we had expected, well the learning curve and experience anyway. Cindy excelled in building the business and customer base. There are more experiences and episodes that we can discuss. Being the only dance bar in town, we had fun!

Cindy’s biggest thrill while owning this business was at Christmas and Easter. At Christmas she would go to Missoula and buy presents — fruit and candy for our Christmas Party. At Easter we had an Egg Hunt for all the kids. That was always a hoot. But the parents starting complaining, since there was no egg hunt for them! So Cindy started hiding a bottle of adult beverage. Now the kids of all ages were happy.

In 1990 Cindy and Ron moved back to Missoula where she continued her career in the Bar and Casino business. She managed the Press Box, Mullan Station and Stone of Accord. Again her customer base and friendships grew with each new day.

Cindy’s final adventure was a stay-at-home wife, mother and especially the light of her life, time with her grandchildren. She was excited to see them each time and especially when on occasion the families returned to live at our home for short periods of time.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father Ray, daughter Teresa and step-daughter Jennifer Auerbach. She is survived by her husband Ron and mother Vera at the family home. Son Derrick Muchmore and Pam; Son Ryan and Daughter Chayce. Son Michael Muchmore and partner Nichole-Brooklynn, Kaylee and Izabella. Jennifer’s boys Mason and Braden Auerbach. Casey Sanguins and partner Kristen, daughter Mikayla.

Sunset Memorial Gardens in Missoula will be in charge of the services on Friday, May 4 at 2 p.m. A viewing will be on Thursday from 4-6 p.m.

Any donations please send to Western Mt. Shrine Club PO Box 5661 Missoula MT. 59806 Attn: Rich Horton

Cindy loved all her children and all the children she met were hers. IJATC
