Alice Marie Bateman, 82, of Turah, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2016, in the comfort of her home with family by her side.
She was born May 24, 1933, to Margaret and Miles Hiatt in Kimball, Nebraska. Mom was 6 months old when the family moved to St. Ignatius, and various other places in the area. Mom attended school in Frenchtown and Missoula County High School. On March 28, 1950, she married Willi Bateman and together they built a home and raised three children in Turah.

Mom spent her life being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandma.
She is survived by her husband, Willi; a daughter, Cheri; two sons, Dave and Jess; two sisters, Joann (Wendell) Morgan, Gladys (Ted) Garrard; three brothers, Fred (Barb) Hiatt, Cecil Hiatt and Rick (MerriLee) Hiatt.
A visitation will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 16, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 7405 Mullan Road, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. A potluck will follow in the funeral home’s community room. Condolences for Alice’s family may be left at missoulafuneralhomes.com.
