Betty Jean Zander

– Betty Zander, 79, Greenough, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday January 20, 2017 at Riverside Healthcare in Missoula after a long courageous battle with recovery from cancer and its treatments with her family at her side.
She was born March 12, 1937, in Missoula, MT., the eldest daughter of Lucy and Roy Patton and married her High School sweetheart Don L. Zander who preceded her in death on Dec. 4 1999, her mother Lucy and father Roy. Survivors include her longtime friend and companion Glenn Truitt, her sisters Margie Bland of Missoula, Dorothy and Al Peters and Millie Nelson of Lewiston Idaho, Clara and George Tucker from Asotin Washington, daughter Debbie and Ralph Johnsrud, son Brad and Dovie Zander, son Rick Zander and Lisa, daughter Tammy, and Greg Larson. Other survivors include grandchildren Trent and Travis, Josh and Jesse, Barbara, and Brittany. Great grandchildren Cole and Payton, Krysta and Jax.
Betty worked at a couple of Missoula’s famous landmarks like the Wilma and Rialto theaters while in High School and later went on to tend bar at several of Missoula’s favorite watering holes to include Bud Lake Village and Missoula Country Club.
At Betty’s request, there will be no funeral service.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Riverside Healthcare entire staff, and to Partners in Home care Hospice.
