Obituary for Bill Wimett

A Life Well Lived
Our beloved father, husband and friend Bill Wimett passed away early Friday
morning September 9th. Any who had the opportunity to know Bill would agree
he was a man of incredible character, strength and devotion. He was devoted to
caring for his beautiful wife Lucille who battled and eventually succumbed to
cancer, devoted to helping his children and grandchildren succeed in life,
devoted to building a thriving trucking business, and devoted to his end-of-life
love and wife Gayle.
Bill was a WWII veteran who was seriously wounded in battle at the tender age of
19. Surviving this he came home to build a life, having 7 children and enjoying
many grandchildren. The war was a defining moment for Bill, who understood in
those perilous hours laying on the battlefield that life is precious, a gift, don't
waste it. He passed those values onto all his family; don't look back, challenge
and work at all you do with gusto, forge ahead and know what is important.
Bill will be missed by many, but he's kicking up his heels in Heaven with his wife
Lucille, his son Mark and the many friends and family who preceded him. We will
miss Bill dearly, but feel comfort knowing he is free and living in perfect love.
Bill is survived by his loyal and beautiful wife Gayle, his children, Judy, Marlene
(Brad), Bill, Bob (Lisa), Barbie (Don) and Jacquie (Tim) and their families. Rest in
peace dear husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the University
Congregational Church. In lieu of flowers memorials in Bill’s name are suggested to Hospice of Missoula.
