Cathy M Gydas

Cathy M. Gydas was born to Evaldas J. and Colleen F. Gydas in Missoula on 6/6/1964. Cathy grew up on the south side of Missoula and attended Russell Grade School then Sentinel High School and attended some classes at the University of Montana. Cathy died of pneumonia on 12/4/2016. Cathy was surrounded by her family at the time of her death.
Cathy worked at a Holiday store, then Albertsons and was employed at Sun Mountain Sports for the past 21 years. Cathy also worked part time at sporting events for the Missoula Osprey and University of Montana. Cathy always made many friends wherever she worked. Cathy's family is very grateful to the Sun Mountain Sports family for the support of her family and particularly Elizabeth as soon as they learned of Cathy's death.
Cathy was a very social people person, whose greatest joy was her family, especially her daughter Elizabeth. Cathy really loved all of her nieces and nephews too and enjoyed as many activities with them as she could. Cathy attended the many cheer events Elizabeth was involved in and was a very vocal supporter of Elizabeth and her team. Cathy also loved Facebook, where she found and communicated with many friends. One friend of Cathy's, summed it up upon hearing of her death, "I got to know Cathy through Sentinel where she was a very active parent... Cathy was a ray of sunshine every time I saw her and will be missed by many."
Cathy is survived by her daughter Elizabeth, mother Colleen, sister Bonnie, brother Ed, sister-in-law Kris, nephews Dan, Paul and Chris, her niece Brittney and niece-in-laws Lauren and Ashley. Cathy was preceded in death by her father Evaldas, infant daughters Hope and Faith and her nephew Matt.
Memorial services are to be held at the Zoo Town Church on Saturday 12/10/16 at 2:00 with a reception to follow. Cathy's family requests donations to the Cathy Gydas Memorial Fund FBO Elizabeth Gydas in care of First Interstate Bank P.O. Box 4667 Missoula, MT 59806 ATTN: Heather Hastings in lieu of flowers.
