Claire Marie  Burke

Claire Marie Burke was born on August 22, 1944, to Virginia and August Schreiber in San Diego, California. She passed away on Wednesday June 20, 2018. Claire spent much of her childhood in Aurora, Indiana, before moving to Dillon, and graduated from Beaverhead schools. Claire was married to Daniel “Dan” Joseph Burke on June 19, 1965. They raised a daughter, Camia Lynn and a son, Shannon.

She graduated from Montana State University, Bozeman, with a bachelor’s of science, and went on to use her talents to teach English and home economics. In addition to raising their family, Claire and Dan spent many decades breeding, raising and showing Great Danes. Through this, she forged many bonds and lifelong friendships. Claire and Dan also enjoyed visiting the Oregon coast. After Dan passed in 2009, Claire spent much of her time with her children and grandchildren and had many adventurous travels. Claire is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel, sister Theola, and parents. She is survived by her daughter Camia Fiscus, and her daughter Rachel, and her son, Shannon Burke, his wife Louisa Burke, and their children Hannah and Daniel.

Services will be held on Monday, June 25 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier church, with a ceremony and reception to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
