LOLO ~ Dan Michael Sloan, (Bumpa) 72, of Lolo passed away on Saturday, November the 27th, 2021, peacefully at home.
Born in Great Falls on April 17, 1949 to Tom and Genevieve Sloan. Dan graduated high school in Superior Wisconsin and joined the Marines in 1968. He served for six years before he moved to Havre, Montana, where he became a police officer and met his wife, Angie Biebinger.
Together they had 5 children, all who grew up in Lolo, Montana. Dan signed on with the railroad, retiring as an engineer for MRL in 2009.
He especially enjoyed camping, hiking, swimming, and reading. Always saying: “books will let your imagination explore.” Of course, spending time with his family as well. He loved the holidays. One of his favorite Christmas traditions was having his kids bake cookies, and our dear old dad, he became the taste tester.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, his brother, Monte Sloan and his daughter, Katie Foster.
Survivors include, Ex-wife Angie Sloan, Daughters - Shelley Grados, Jennyanne Bowman, Shannon Sloan and his son, Tom Sloan. His brothers – Shannon, Kevin and Brad Sloan and 7 grandchildren.
Services will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 12:30 pm Graveside with Military honors at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are under the care of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Missoula.
