Donna Jean Chaffee

– Donna Jean Chaffee, 86, passed away in her Arizona home on Thursday, April 13, 2017. Donna was born to Ralph and Ida Haas in Puyallup, Washington, on June 18, 1930. She graduated high school from Clarkston, Washington, and college from Washington State University.

Donna worked as a medical lab technologist at St. Luke's hospital in Spokane when she met and married Frank (Bugs) Chaffee in 1954. In 1956, they moved to Missoula where Frank began work with Phillips 66. Following his career, Donna moved and established homes in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Fargo, North Dakota. In 1970, they returned to Missoula and formed the Chaffee Oil Company.

Donna and Bugs were members of the Missoula Country Club where she has been the only family member to hit a hole-in-one. Donna was a Mary Kay consultant sharing products and opportunities with many women. Eventually they became 'snowbirds' and settled the winters in Mesa, Arizona. They built a home facing east toward Donna's beloved Superstition Mountains.

Donna is proceeded in death by her son Robert (Bob) Chaffee and his wife, Darcy; her brothers Dean, Ralph, and Robert Haas; her sister Lucille Forsland. She is survived by husband Frank Austin Chaffee, Jr; brother Gary Haas; daughters Carol (Monte) Idland, Janet (Tony) Cerovski, and Diane (Don) Knight; grandchildren- Kody Idland, Alayna (Luke) Smith, Morgan Cerovski, Erica Cerovski, Anali (Andrew) Silvius, and Craig (Ilena) Fickle; and four great-grandchildren.
