MISSOULA ~ Our beautiful and loving mom, Doreen Elizabeth Campbell, passed away September 2, 2024 at St. Patrick Hospital. She was 95 years old.
Mom was born April 23, 1929 in Vancouver, British Columbia, to Walter and Nancy Elliott. She loved the ocean and the big city.
In 1956, she met a handsome man named Dewey Campbell. They were married June 5 of that year in Vancouver. In 1961, they came to Missoula “for 5 years” for dad to work at the Horner-Waldorf pulp mill in Frenchtown. Mom and Dad enjoyed 43 years of marriage until dad passed away in 1999.
Mom and Dad spent many years camping at Flathead Lake and took several trips south during the winter. Mexico was a favorite. Mom enjoyed gardening and maintained beautiful flowers, bushes, vegetables, a pond and waterfall at her home. She also was accomplished at sewing and knitting and made many beautiful things for her family. She was a long time member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Mom is survived by her five children, daughter Linda Morris, daughter Jeri Fisher and husband Gary, son John Campbell and wife Wende, daughter Teresa Gierke, and daughter Cathy Reiber and husband Eric. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
