ROSEVILLE, CA ~ Douglas Nelson Klein, 86, formerly of Missoula, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024 in Roseville, California.
Doug was born August 23, 1938 in Grangeville, Idaho to George and Elvera (Nelson) Klein.
He went to the University of Idaho where he met the love of his life, Caryl Louise Heth. They were married August 29, 1958.
Doug was the owner of the Credit Bureau of Ravalli County in Hamilton for 18 years, and President of the Collection Bureau Services in Missoula for 28 years. He was also President of the National Assoc. Credit Bureau, President of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, Treasurer of UM Foundation Board of Trustees and President of the Grizzly Riders.
Doug loved participating in the Missoula Symphony Choral. He also loved football, especially the Montana Grizzlies and he enjoyed announcing high school football games in Hamilton for 16 years. He also loved spending time and traveling with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved him for his wit and sense of humor.
Doug is survived by his wife, Caryl; one son, Steven (Laurie) Klein and one daughter, Laura (Gregg) Duffin. Doug was a proud grandfather of six; Mitchell, Alysse, Kyle, Marina, Mikayla and Monique, along with two great-grandchildren, Iylah and Elise.
The family will have a private service held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Missoula.
