EDDIE (PAPA) SCHWAB
MISSOULA - Eddie Schwab “Papa” 76, passed away on Monday, Dec. 26, 2016 at Hillside Health Care Center.
He was born on Jan. 27, 1940 in Missoula, to Cooney and Anna Louise Schwab.
On Dec. 6, 1957, he married Edna Alice Meade. They lived in Missoula, where Papa worked at the Bonner Mill as a millwright. He later went to work at Louisiana Pacific Mill until his retirement in 1999.
Papa was an avid fisherman who enjoyed fishing the local lakes with his best buds but his trips to Alaska for the king salmon fulfilled his dreams.
In his retirement, Papa filled his days four-wheeling, building and welding in his shop, and being Mr. Fix-it for his family and friends. Come fall, Papa could be found in the woods with his trusty chainsaws gathering firewood.
Papa was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He never met a person he did not like or would not help.
Papa is preceded in heaven by his parents, brothers Reuben and Fred, and his sister Helen.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Edna of Missoula, his sister, Margie Lerback of Missoula, his three daughters, LaVone (Paul) Brand of Florence, Ivy (Scott) Seifert of Missoula, Tammie (Tracy) of Missoula, his son, Eddie Schwab of Missoula, his grandchildren, Travis Roy, James Nyberg, Leah Brand, Vanessa Roy, Eric Brand, Tyler Seifert, Jamie Seifert, and great granddaughter, Margaret Brand.
