Elaine Gibson

Elaine Good Gibson, 79 of Missoula passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, August 20, 2017.

Elaine was born on the 6th of July, 1938 in Buhl Idaho to Donald L. Good and Ruby Charest. She moved with her family to Twin Falls where she lived for 14 years before moving with them to Missoula, Montana in 1952.

She attended high school at Loyola Sacred Heart Academy. During her four years she was a member of the Glee Club and All-State Chorus. Her Senior year she was Class President and she was elected Queen of the Prom. She graduated in 1956 as part of the last all-girls class to attend Sacred Heart.

September 19th of 1964 she married Vernon Lee Gibson and they were together until his death in 1992. They began to build their family with the birth of a baby girl in 1967 and she was followed closely by two more girls in 1968 and 1970. Elaine spent the next 15 years as a wife, mother, and homemaker. She chose to rejoin the work force when her girls were in their early teens and held many jobs in the area of customer service. Her favorite was working behind the counter at Dunkem Donuts making countless friends and visiting with her “railroad” guys. She retired in 2000 to help care for her third and final grandchild.

Mom loved Las Vegas, and that she got to go there each year with her daughter Stefanie made the time spent that much more special. Movies with her daughters and granddaughters were one of her favorite activities, but she also loved to plant flowers in the spring, knit booties for her girls, walk the mall with her friends and have quiet backyard family BBQ’s.

Mom was smart, kind, and so very generous. She was tiny but so very strong. She was beautiful inside and out and she loved her family. She loved her quiet peaceful life. We know she is with Daddy now, and she loved him best of all. They will both be missed now and forever.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Ruby. By her husband, Lee Gibson and her brother, Don Good.

She is survived by her 3 daughters, their spouses and their children, all of Missoula. Michelle and Joseph Boland with Michael and Briana, Rochelle and Bernie Dean, Stefanie and Duane Mittlestadt with Marissa. Sister-in-law, Rose Good, Nephew, Troy Good with wife Michelle and their kids Dylan and Gavin.

Private visitation for immediate family at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with memorial service being planned for a later date.
