Elizabeth "Bess" Aarstad

Elizabeth “Bess” Aarstad, 93, of Missoula, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, at St. Patrick Hospital of natural causes.

Bess was born Nov. 20, 1924, in South Dakota to Theodore and Lillian Ward.

She married Edwin James Aarstad and their marriage lasted nearly 60 years.

Bess is preceded in death by her husband Edwin Aarstad, her parents Theodore and Lillian R. Ward and her brother Theodore Ward.

Survivors include her sisters Shirley Snider of Billings, and Carol (Dennis) Serviss of Missoula, brother William Ward of Clinton, son Theodore (Barbara) Aarstad of Clarkston, Washington, and daughter Shirley (Brent) Hinther of Missoula, and her special friend Eileen Pryor of Clinton; as well as, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Per Elizabeth’s wishes private family services will be held.

Sunset Memorial Funeral Home is assisting with these arrangements.
