Gay Marie "Tootie" McKean

Gay (Tootie) Marie McKean 87, passed away peacefully March 28, 2019 in Missoula, Montana. Gay was born in Kalispell, Montana on October 8, 1931 to Hubert & Juanita LaFrance.

Gay married the love of her life Frank J. McKean in Coeur D’Alene, ID. On April 9, 1955. They resided in Kalispell, MT then moved to Missoula, MT and finally settled in Seeley Lake, MT. Mother & Dad raised 10 children, Juanita, Richard, Diean, Renee, Kathy, Judy, Laura, Frank (Jay), Jerry, and Kari.

Gay lived a full life. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great –great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time at home raising her children. Enjoyed all, She loved family gatherings and always made sure of having Birthday Parties for all, Mother was a wonderful homemaker while her husband Frank worked in the saw mills. Gay love to hand embroidery, collect ceramic dolls, angels and other nick knacks.

Gay leaves behind her loving family of 6 children & spouses. Son Richard (Toni), Daughter Kathy(Dwight) daughter Laura(Mark), Son Frank(Jay) McKean, Son Jerry McKean, Daughter Kari(Bryan), 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren & 1 great-great grandchild, & several nieces and nephews.

Gay was preceded in death by her husband Frank McKean, Mom & Dad together again. Gay’s parents: brothers, sister, & daughters and great grandson. Mother will be missed by all, but she is still with us in our hearts and minds so she is not really gone. Love you Mother.
