John Patrick Yardley

MISSOULA ~ John Patrick Yardley, 88, of Missoula, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024 at his home.

John was born December 12,1935 in Sutton Coldfield, England.

He received his Ph. D in Chemistry from the University of Nottingham. He married Valerie Robinson in l960. They moved to the USA where he completed two post doc positions in Madison, Wisconsin and Bangor, Maine. He worked for Wyeth-Ayerst then Pfizer for over 35 years culminating in many patents including the Thomas Alva Edison Patent Award in 2001, retiring as the Associate Director of Chemistry.

John and Valerie lived in King of Prussia, Pa. for fifty years then moved to Missoula, Mt in 2015. He loved his family, traveling to Europe and medieval history. He died peacefully in his sleep with family around him.

He is survived by Valerie, daughter Joanna and sons Matthew and Andrew. A good life.
