MISSOULA ~ Joseph A. Pietro passed away at the Viilage Health Care Center on March 12th. Joe was born to Joseph and Barbara Pietro on September 23, 1937 in Seattle Washington. Joe moved with his family to Missoula, where they settled. It is there where he met his first wife, Sharon Koppleman. This union created their two children Toni and Patrick. Joe and Sharon later divorced and he then met the woman he described as the love of his life, Joan Jensen. He became a stepfather to Joan’s daughters Thora and Jodi, whom he loved as his own.
Joe worked most of his life as a cab driver, until his health forced him into early retirement. Joe had a smile that could light up a room and his laughter and jovial spirit made him beloved by all who knew him. At family functions with his nephew and others he could always be found smiling and joking. “Uncle Tony” will certainly be missed. We will save you a plate Uncle Tony!
He is survived by his daughter Toni and by his stepdaughters Thora and Jodi. Other survivors include his nephews Brian (Robin) Thompson of Maine and Dave Moraca of Missoula. Joe is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren among others.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Barbara, his sister Nancy, his son Patrick and his beloved wife Joan.
Joe requested no funeral services and he will be laid to rest next to his wife at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Missoula, Montana. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation be made to a charity in his name.
Arrangements are under the care of Sunset memorial Funeral Home and Crematory in Missoula.
