Mary Mace of Emmett passed peacefully on June 4, 2021 at the age of 91.
Mary was born in Deer Lodge, MT in 1930. She raised her family primarily in Missoula, MT with a couple of years spent in Spokane, WA and Portland, OR. Mary had several vocations in her lifetime including working at a sawmill, cooking and tending the counter at Woolworth’s, as a cook at Sentinel High School for many years, and co-managing a motel in Challis, ID.
Mary was known for her cooking and loved to share her homemade goodies with family and friends. Two of her favorite treats to share were cinnamon rolls any time of year, and her delicious fruitcakes at Christmas time.
Mary is survived by two children, Terrie Flaten of Olympia, WA and Rick Mace of McKenna, WA, along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Albert Mace and Maurice Mace, along with her partner of nearly thirty years, John Baines.
Mary will be laid to rest next to her parents at Sunset Cemetery in Missoula with a family graveside service Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 1:00 pm.
Terrie would like to thank the many staff members at Apple Valley and Rivers Edge, especially the nurses and CNAs, as well as the Heart N Home Hospice team, for their support and for the care and love they provided to Mary.
