Myrna Jean Price

MISSOULA ~ Myrna Jean Price, 81, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Rosetta Assisted Living of natural causes.

She was born on April 4, 1941, in Helena, to Lenora and Sumner "Jim" White.  As a young girl she lived with her family in Helena and attended Helena Senior High School.  She left Helena to attend a dental nurse’s college in San Francisco. She served as a nanny while at school. She also attended Idaho State University but was not able to finish due to her mother’s untimely death of a stroke. She came back to Helena to help raise her younger brother Dennis. She was employed as a dental assistant in Helena.

She later met and fell in love with a rancher from Avon named Donald M. Price.  They were married September 24, 1966 and moved to Missoula shortly after. They stayed together 40 years before divorcing in 2008. Myrna worked at a couple of dentist offices and spent 5 years at the University of Montana’s dental clinic.

Myrna enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, getting together with friends, shopping, and doing lunch with her daughter and granddaughter. She enjoyed taking walks with her dog Buster around her neighborhood and met many neighbors that way.

Myrna was a spiritual woman who loved being a mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. She took loving care of her friends, colleagues, and pets.

Thanks to the many caregivers and healthcare professionals that helped Myrna in her final years battling dementia. The staff at Missoula Aging Services, Rosetta Assisted Living, and Hestia Hospice is much appreciated for their dedicated service to make Myrna’s last remaining years comfortable and safe.

She is preceded in death by Mother and Father and oldest sibling James "Jimmy" White.

Survivors include her daughter Patti (Bob) Perrin Missoula; granddaughter Katheryn Perrin Missoula; great grandchildren Benjamin Sorensen and Avery Sorenson Missoula; younger brother Dennis White (Joanne Sanderson) Helena; along with nieces and cousins.

Myrna requested to be cremated and rested at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Missoula. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
