Norma P. Mohland, 89, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016, in Missoula. She was born June 22, 1926. in Hardin to John and Mary (Benner) Mohland.
The family moved to Missoula when Norma was young. She attended grade school at Lowell School and then went on to Missoula County High School. She worked on the family sugar beet farm and was a bookkeeper for many years.
She was famous for her delicious homemade pies and knitted slippers. She loved animals, often caring for stray cats and loved to feed the neighborhood squirrels.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Mohland; brothers, Reinholt, Sam, Al, Robert, John, Art, Hank and infant brother; and sisters, Sarah, Alta, Clara, Rachel and Jackie. She is survived by one brother, Walt Mohland of Saginaw, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.
No services will be held at Norma’s request. Donations may be made to Humane Society of Western Montana or AniMeals.
