Patricia Deschamps

Pat Deschamps peacefully passed away December 7, 2018.
Pat was born June 1929 in Missoula, Montana to parents Theodore and Melissa Boyd. She was raised in Alberton, Montana where she graduated high school. She later earned her teaching certificate from the University of Montana. She married Ernest “Ernie” Deschamps in 1950 and the couple started their family in Missoula and later moved to Lolo, Montana. She had a deep love for family, friends and God. She never missed any of her children’s sporting events and often drove them around the state to show their horses. She and Ernie traveled extensively visiting Russia, Japan, Canada and the Great Wall of China. She always laughed telling the story of the encounter with a bear while fishing in Alaska with her in-laws. Teddy ran right past her to the safety of the motorhome leaving her to fend for herself against the bear! Pat loved to go fishing with Ernie and she usually caught the biggest fish. She enjoyed sharing stories about her teaching job in Bad Rock, Montana. She was proud of her work as an administrative assistant in food services at the University of Montana and loved interacting with the students there (1980-1991). She was a founding member of Spirit of Christ Catholic Church in Lolo. She served 25 years as president of the Bowling Leagues. She was also treasurer at the Lolo Community Center and secretary/treasurer of the Parish Council in Lolo. In October Pat suffered a fall and doctors told her at that time she had terminal cancer. Ever the gracious woman, Pat’s response was “I’ve had a very good life.” She is preceded in death by her father Theodore, mother Melissa, Uncle Milford and Aunt Elizabeth, niece Julie and other beloved family members. She is survived by husband Ernie, son Michael (Gerri), daughter Cathy, brother Ted (Elaine) along with sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and treasured friends.
