Raymond C. Lettus, age 65, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at Village Health Care Center, of cancer.
He was born on January 31, 1951, in Great Falls, Montana, to Robert and Dorothy Lettus. His mother later married Robert Schroeder, who was Ray’s step-father most of his life. As a young boy and teenager, he lived with his family in Great Falls until he moved to Missoula to attend college at the University of Montana. After college, he married Carol Davidson of Great Falls and they started their life together living and working in Idaho.
Raymond soon began his career in the insurance industry, having held positions as an underwriter and account executive, until a few years ago when he retired. Ray and Carol had their first child, Jeffrey, on May 14, 1980 and then Sara on July 31, 1984. Ray later married Diane Fleming of Seattle, Washington, and had his third child, Tori Lettus, who was born on February 14, 1996.
Ray enjoyed gardening, playing golf, collecting antiques, going to sporting events, being a sports coach, cooking and spending time with his family.
His children wrote this about their father: While growing up, our Dad was always involved and invested in our lives and interests. He constantly challenged us to do our best and work hard in everything we did. He always cherished the time spent with us, whether it was just hanging around the house or going on family outings. Throughout our childhood and adulthood our Dad was always just a cool person to spend time with, and whether or not he succeeded, he always strived to make family outings and adventures memorable. He always used to say that his greatest purpose and mission in life, as well as his greatest accomplishment, were his children. And in his last few years he came to know our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We are going to miss you Dad. Love Jeff, Sara and Tori.
Raymond is preceded in death by Dorothy and Robert Schroeder and Robert Lettus.
