Dewayne Price, 80, of Missoula, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018, at his home.
Dewayne was born on May 20, 1938, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Thurman and Velma Price. Shortly after his birth, his family relocated to Southern California. As a young man, Dewayne participated in many sports, and excelled in swimming and diving.
On Oct. 7, 1956, Dewayne married Shirley Kay in Concord, California. The couple resided in Riverside, California, until 1965, when he entered the ministry and moved to Royal City, Washington.
During Dewayne’s ministry he pastored in the Church of the Nazarene in Royal City, Cheney, Washington, Port Angeles, Washington, Kellogg, Idaho, Libby, Montana, Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Victor, Montana, where he retired in 2000.
Dewayne was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed watching and participating in various sports.
Dewayne was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren play in various sports and attending their concerts.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; one son, J. Dewayne Price and four daughters, Laura Pate, Julie Fayant, Jill McGrath, and Janell Habeck; their spouses; 10 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Dewayne is also survived by one brother, Bill Price; a sister, Doris Kollmansberger, and numerous cousins.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens with a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 2, at 2 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene in Missoula.
