Ronald William Buchman, 74, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016, peacefully at his home in Missoula.
Ronald, called Ron by his friends and family, was a caring husband, father and grandfather throughout his lifetime. Ron was born June 21, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to parents Lloyd and Burnett Buchman.
Ron spent his childhood and received his education in Cincinnati. He entered the Army after graduating high school and served as a cook. He was stationed in California, which is where he met his wife, Lynda Buchman. The couple married on April 22, 1973 in Las Vegas. After their marriage, they moved to Pingree, Idaho, where they lived until the summer of 1980. At that time they moved to Missoula where he lived his past 35 years, and passed away. He spent the majority of his working career as a long haul, over-the-road truck driver, which he affectionately called being a paid professional tourist.
Ron is survived by his children, daughter Spring Buchman, daughter and son-in-law Crystal and Bill Darrow, son and daughter-in-law Nikia and Jacquie Buchman, son and daughter-in-law Flint and Christina Buchman and son and daughter-in-law Rhett and Stephenie Buchman. He is also survived by his 13 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Lynda Buchman and his parents.
A funeral service for Ron will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 30, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens to follow. There will be a reception at the funeral home after the graveside service. Condolences for Ron’s family may be left at missoulafuneralhomes.com.
