It is with deepest sorrows for our family to share the passing of our beloved Ryan on Thursday October 28, 2021. Ryan was born May 4, 1976 in Butte, MT to Brenda Alley. Ryan drew his last breath at St. Patrick’s Hospital ICU in Missoula, MT due to COVID-19, complications from COVID-19, and pneumonia that he courageously battled for almost 2 months. Ryan was cremated on November 1, 2021 in Missoula, MT.
Ryan battled illness his whole life as he was born with a degenerative kidney disease, almost 15 years on dialysis, a kidney transplant, and his body fighting hard twice to survive twice not to reject his new kidney. Ryan had an immeasurable amount of strength, courage, humor, and determination to fight to live for the ones he loves. Through all of his trials and tribulations, Ryan developed many philosophies, one philosophy that guided him is that “it’s just a speed bump on the road of life.”
Ryan grew up in Dillon, MT with short periods spent in Chicago and New Jersey with his Mother, Brenda, and older sister, Tammy. He loved Dillon and the lifelong friendships he cherishes that began in Dillon. One of those friendships was with Melanie Hawk (Blomquist). They had one son, Devin, together and married in Missoula, MT. Even though they did divorce, family was of the utmost importance to them and they worked to maintain a beautiful friendship, love and respect for each other. Devin knows that was the light and life of his father. Ryan also chose to be an amazing role model to Melanie’s second son Hunter. Ryan’s character, ethics, and morals, and humor lives on in both Devin and Hunter. Ryan was always willing to be there to help anyone and lend a hand or shirt off his back to anyone he could, to encourage his loved ones, and to listen and help guide his loved ones.
Ryan had numerous hobbies such as bicycling, spending time outdoors walking or target practice, working on his or family members’ vehicles, reading, cooking, forever collector of hot wheels, legos, and nerf, and spending time with his family.
Ryan was saddened when his Uncle Donald passed away some years ago as he looked up to him greatly. Ryan’s family includes his Mother Brenda, sister Tammy and children including, Niece Nikki and her family, Grandma JoAnn Alley, numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins within the Hawk and Alley family trees, Blomquist family tree, Melanie, Hunter, and Devin Hawk. Ryan cherished his friends and neighbors.
We would like to invite friends and family to share in their memories of Ryan also by submitting memories, photos, videos, and to visit the online site at www.sunsetfuneralhomecemetery.com.
Ryan loved fiercely and will always remain in our hearts and minds. Ryan’s passing is a speed bump that is very hard for us to accept but he passed away with as much dignity as possible and most importantly he knew how much we love him and will always love him.
Arrangements are under the care of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Missoula.
