Shane Wekkin, a cherished member of his family and community, passed away on April 1, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on February 17, 1963, Shane spent his life creating remarkable friendships and developing a profound love for golf, a passion that brought him so much joy.
Shane was deeply respected and admired for his warm heart and support for those around him. He made a trip to Montana and Arizona at least once every year to enjoy his family. His ability to make lasting connections with friends was a highlight of his character, as he created a network that spanned far and wide. Golf was not just a hobby but a significant part of his life, and he found delight in sharing this love with others.
He is survived by his father, Stan Wekkin, and step-mother, Carol Wekkin, both of Missoula, Montana. Shane is also survived by his brother, Tracy Wekkin (Christina), along with several beloved nieces and nephews, cousins and special friends who were there every minute through his last health battle.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Laurilee Wells Wekkin Rutledge and sister, Robin Wekkin Gray.
Shane leaves behind many memories, and while his absence will be felt deeply, his spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him.
A celebration of life for Shane will be Saturday, May 3rd from 2:00 to 5:00 at Stan and Carol’s. 2429 43rd Street.
