Shari Ann (Younger)Hert, 42 of Missoula, passed away suddenly Thursday, September 7, 2017 at St. Patrick Hospital from an aggressive form of cancer. She was surrounded by her devoted family and friends.
Shari was born February 14, 1975 in Missoula to Lyman and Marilyn Younger. Shari grew up in Missoula and graduated from Big Sky High School. After graduating, she spent time bartending at the Golden Rose and Jokers Wild, jobs she loved. In November 2005, Shari went to Spokane Washington to see the Lion King and serendipitously met the love of her life Chad Hert. He was there from Billings, attending the Navy District Christmas party. She knew immediately that he was the one and after many long months of phone calls and weekend visits she made the choice to move to Gulfport, Mississippi with Chad. She and Chad made a wonderful life there, marrying in March 2009. She started working at Walgreens where she met wonderful new friends. Chad and Shari spent their free time traveling all over the south, exploring new places and playing with their dogs. After too many hurricanes she was finally convinced to move to Kalispell, Montana to stay with friends while she awaited her husband’s retirement from the Navy.
Last fall Shari finally got to travel around Europe, meeting up with her husband in London for a wonderful, three week vacation. Her favorite place was Greece. In Shari’s words, “It was a trip of a lifetime!”
Shari was hard working and always gave a helping hand. Her beautiful smile would light up a room and her infectious laugh would melt hearts. Many were lucky to have her as part of their life, making her unforgettable.
Shari is preceded in death by her mother Marilyn; maternal grandparents, paternal grandfather Garland August 6, 2017, and paternal grandmother Betty, who passed just a few hours after Shari, on September 7, 2017.
Survivors include her loving husband Chad Hert, father-in-law Harold of Billings, sister-in-law’s Evelyn Seibel, Coleen Lind, Susan Kesler, Vicki Hert, and Jodi Kesler; her father Lyman “Cole” Younger(Ann) of Arlee MT, brother TJ (Anita) and her two favorite nephews Logan and Blake of Vancouver, WA; and her second family Laura, Cameron and Jaxson Klocow of Kalispell, MT.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, Sept. 16 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Condolences for Shari’s family may be left at www.sunsetfuneralhomecemetery.com
