MISSOULA ~ It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sierra, who left this world unexpectedly and far too soon on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the age of 26. A beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, aunt, and friend, Sierra had a tender, giving heart that knew no bounds and a gentle, caring, empathetic soul overflowing with generosity devotion, heartwarming kindness, and profound love.
Sierra was a rare and radiant light in this world, whose beauty beamed just as brightly on the inside as it did on the outside. Her love, kindness, devotion, and compassion flowed through her with grace that emitted an intensity of warmth and joy wherever she went which will forever make her truly unforgettable. With a smile that could brighten even the darkest of days and a spirit that uplifted everyone around her, she had a way of making people feel seen, valued, and deeply loved.
Her laughter was one of her greatest gifts—warm, infectious, and full of joy, it could fill a room and bring a smile to anyone’s face. Whether through a small act of kindness or the unwavering support she gave to those she cared about, Sierra touched countless lives and left a lasting imprint on the hearts of many.
She found her greatest peace and happiness outdoors--just breathing in the fresh air and feeling the cool breeze; whether it be riding horses, hiking through sun drenched trails, collecting crystals, feathers or unique rocks that told silent stories that spoke to her... together with the dream of owning a 67 Impala, classic Volkswagen Bug, a piece of land with horses or just taking long cruises in her Camaro; Sierra also had an adventurous soul and a deep appreciation for the natural world finding joy hanging with friends and family by a bonfire, floating the rivers, camping under the stars, casting a fishing line into the water or just discovering a new dirt road, often in her precious El Camino listening to Kip Moore's music and simply taking in the beauty that nature offers---exploring the outdoors truly was her sanctuary.
Her love for animals was just as limitless—she had a special way of connecting with them, offering them the same love and kindness she so effortlessly gave to the people around her. From the smallest creatures to the most majestic, she cherished them all, embodying a heart full of empathy and a soul deeply in tune with the world around her.
She was a gentle soul... a source of strength, dignity and inspiration to her family, always offering her abounding, steadfast love without condition. She truly was an Angel in our midst! As a daughter and a sister, she is a huge part of our souls, a protector, a glowing light of purity, innocence, love and "best" friend. As a granddaughter, she shared a special bond filled with deep nurturing love, and innumerable cherished moments. As an aunt, she adored her nieces and nephews, showering them with endless love, laughter, and guidance. As a cousin & friend, she was a confidante, a cheerleader and a beacon of light. Her absence leaves an unfillable void, but the love she shared will live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know her.
Sierra is survived by her loving Mom, Kristi J. Getschman; her beloved grandmother, Sandra Getschman; her cherished siblings, Kelli (Kenny) Christensen, Stacy (Justin) Schriver; her adoring nieces and nephews, Tanner, Tyler (Keely), MaKenna, Landin, Karsyn & Kyleigh; and a wide circle of family and friends who cherished her. She was preceded in death by her beloved and devoted brother, Larry Alan Pyette, her grandfather Kenneth D. Getschman her great-aunt Nancy McQueen and her father Larry Lee Pyette; all whom she loved deeply and who now welcome her with open arms. While we grieve the loss of her beautiful spirit, we will seek solace in the memories we shared, as well as her unwavering grace, beauty and love she left behind.
Sierra will lay at rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens in the Meadows of the Open Bible above the shoulders of her late grandfather, Kenneth D. Getschman who will guide her newest wings and carry her home until we all meet again.
A gathering in loving remembrance of Sierra’s life will be held at a place where family and friends can come together to honor her memory on April 5, 2025 at 4:00p.m. in West Riverside Lions Clubs Red Barn - Located at 1305 Haaglund Dr, Milltown, MT 59851.
Family and friends are invited to join us in remembering and honoring her beautiful soul. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to "JUST RESPONSE" in Missoula or Fallon Farms Sanctuary in her honor, so that her legacy of bravery, loyalty, love and compassion lives on.
Rest easy, sweet Sierra Rose. The gift of your love is forever cherished. Your wings were ready, but our hearts were not. You will live on in our hearts and souls forever.
