Virginia Nettleton

February 5, 1930 — October 30, 2024

Bremerton, WA

Our Lord has a new beautiful angel in Heaven. Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing she is at peace and once again with members of her family already in Heaven.

Virginia M Nettleton passed on October 30, 2024 in Bremerton, WA at the age of 94. She was born in Olden, MO to James and Virgie Lawson.

Virginia (Jenny) enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, traveling and listening to country music, but her greatest joy was her family. She met her lifelong love Thomas J. Nettleton, when her brother brought him home on leave. She informed her brother she was going to marry him and on May 5, 1947 they were married in Kearney, Nebraska. They went on to share 55 years devoted to each other as they built their family. Theirs was a lifelong romance few are blessed to have. They never stopped holding hands. Virginia was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-aunt. Those who knew them were able to experience their love and hospitality as they opened their home to others not only daily, but on special occasions. As she would say, “there is always room at the table”. She made everyone feel welcomed in their home.

Survived by her daughter Mary (James) Cook, sister Elizabeth (James D. deceased) Boyer, granddaughters Bridgett Alsono, Sarah Nettleton, Michelle (Jared) Burch, Kari (Dave) Jellison, Mary (DeVincey) Mouring, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was proceeded in death by the love of her life and husband Thomas J. Nettleton, sons Thomas J Nettleton II and Charles (Chuck) Nettleton, brother Calvin (Gene) Lawson, sister Ruby Poe. However, she always held them near and dear to her heart and shared fond memories of them.

At her request a family graveside service will be held on July 14, 2025 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Missoula, MT. and laid to rest with her beloved husband and sons.
